Back in the dim and distant past, I wrote my MBA thesis, entitled IT as A Critical Success Factor in New Products within the UK Deregulated Gas Market . It was in 1999…yes last millennium! It was a time of great change in the energy trading sector, there had been privatisation followed by deregulation which opened up energy trading markets but no one knew what direction the markets would take. In the last 20+ years there has been change in the energy trading markets and even more change in IT.
